Dr. Sharon L. Johnson is Pastor of the Healing Waters Ministries church, in University City, Missouri.  The ministry is dedicated to the propagation and proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching and singing the Word of God.  Dr. Johnson, who has been ministering the Word of God for over 30 years, began the present local ministry by teaching a weekly Bible Class on Tuesday nights, geared toward preparing the people of God for Godly kingdom service. The Lord has continuously blessed the ministry, and has seen fit to expand it into a full-fledged church.   

 

Pastor Johnson is a former Junior and Senior high school French teacher, Computer Systems Analysis and Design Engineer, Computer Programmer, Data Base Administrator, and Basic Computer Information Instructor.  She holds degrees in French and Secondary Education, graduate degrees in Biblical Studies and Counseling, a doctoral degree in Biblical Studies, and has completed graduate hours in Pastoral Counseling.  She also holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in Theology.

 

She is a gifted and anointed singer and musician who has ministered musically throughout the United States and abroad.  Her musical history includes teaching and directing choirs, playing the bass guitar, and frequently being the lead singer and/or soloist for many organizations.  She has participated on recording projects with several highly acclaimed music artists, and has completed two nationally released recordings, one of which was considered for a Dove Award.

 

She fully subscribes to the elements of her church’s mission statement, some of which speak of seeking lost sous, healing hurting and wounded people, restoring the downtrodden, and helping those in need.

 

One of her primary belief statements is:

“The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing that one can give to the world.  It is for this reason that I have been commissioned to ‘Go ye therefore…’ (Matt. 28:19)”.
